Horse trekking booking system for NZ. Every saddle counted, 0% commission.

GoodKeen is a booking system for NZ horse trekking operators: recurring trek departures with a hard cap set by the horses you can actually saddle, per-rider or whole-trek pricing, waivers signed before anyone reaches the yards, and 0% booking fees on every plan — free forever up to 25 bookings a month.

All prices in NZD. Built in New Zealand.

Built around departures, horses and yards

Beach rides, river loops, high-country treks — booking software that thinks in departure times and saddle counts, not seats in a theatre.

Departure times as schedules

Set the 10am beach ride, the 1pm river loop and the Friday twilight trek as weekly schedules — each trek its own activity with its own capacity, all on one calendar.

A cap set by your horses

Six quiet horses means six riders, and the system stops selling at six. While a group checks out, their places are held for 15 minutes with a countdown — two bookings can never take the same saddle.

Per-rider or whole-trek pricing

Charge per rider, or set a flat price for the whole trek — a group that takes every saddle is one booking at one price, and the departure is full to everyone else.

Waivers signed before the yards

Every rider signs at booking — a real drawn signature, stored with the exact waiver text and timestamp. No clipboard on the fence rail while the horses wait.

Every rider a recorded adult

Checkout collects each rider’s name and date of birth, and the server won’t accept anyone under 18. Every booking is adults, on the record, before a single horse is brushed.

Reminders that beat the alarm

A no-show on a dawn departure is a saddled horse doing nothing. Confirmation on booking, a reminder 24 hours out, and automatic no-show marking when someone sleeps in anyway.

Gift vouchers, NZ law built in

Issue a voucher from your admin in winter; the rider redeems it online for a summer ride. The NZ-law 3-year minimum expiry is applied automatically, with balances tracked per voucher.

QR check-in at the gate

Every confirmation email carries a QR ticket. Check riders in from any phone as they park up — it runs on the mobile web, so there’s nothing to install.

Your own Stripe account

Card payments go straight into your own Stripe account. GoodKeen adds 0% — you pay only Stripe’s standard processing fees, which go to Stripe, not to us.

Do the maths

What commission does to a trek’s margin

Horses eat whether the platform takes a cut or not. Here’s where the percentage goes on the big-name systems.

Rezdy

+3%/booking

on top of $49/$99/$249 per month (region-detected currency, ex-GST in AU). A trek with three riders at NZ$120 each hands over about NZ$10.80 — every trek, all season.

FareHarbor

6–8% guest fee

no subscription — instead your riders typically pay 6–8% on top at checkout; the rate isn’t published and is set per agreement. Your prices look dearer than the stable down the road.

GoodKeen

NZ$39

/mo flat and uncapped — or free forever up to 25 bookings/mo. Waivers, vouchers and QR check-in included. NZD pricing, 0% fees on every plan.

The frame that matters: at that 3% example, ten treks a week is roughly NZ$470 a month in commission before the subscription — more than a year’s worth of Starter in a single summer. And a guest checkout fee doesn’t spare you either; it just moves the cost onto your riders’ card statements.

Rezdy rates per rezdy.com pricing pages, checked Aug 2026 — check each provider for current rates. FareHarbor’s guest fee is not published — “typically 6–8%” per an analysis by rival platform CaptainBook (captainbook.io). Card processing (Stripe) is charged separately by your payment provider on any system.

Signed before the horses are saddled

Riding is exactly the kind of activity where the paperwork has to be right. The morning of a departure — riders arriving, horses tacked, one eye on the sky — is the worst possible time to chase signatures on a clipboard.

With GoodKeen, every rider signs when they book. Let’s be straight about what that is: a waiver is risk communication, informed consent and a record — not a magic liability shield, and no software makes an incident go away. What it gives you is proof of exactly what each rider was told and agreed to, and when.

Our plain-English guide to NZ waiver law covers where waivers actually stand for NZ operators. General information, not legal advice.

Stored with every signature
  • A drawn signature per rider — not a pre-ticked box on a shared form.
  • An immutable snapshot of the exact waiver text they signed, sealed with a cryptographic hash — edit your waiver later and old records stay untouched.
  • IP, device and timestamp recorded with each signature, and the lot exportable as PDF whenever you need it.

Weather days and rider details, without the fudge

The two conversations every trekking operator has weekly — handled the way you actually work.

When the southerly rolls in

Refund the booking in full or in part, right from the booking, in a couple of clicks — a PDF receipt goes out automatically. If the rider paid with a gift voucher, the refund returns to the voucher first, so the value stays with you for a finer day.

Or move the trek, not the money

Most riders would rather ride Thursday than get a refund. Drag their booking onto another departure on the calendar — capacity is re-checked as you drop it, so a rebooked Thursday can’t end up with more riders than horses.

Rider weight and experience, honestly handled

GoodKeen doesn’t pretend a form field settles horse matching. Each rider’s name and date of birth are captured automatically at checkout; weight, experience and nerves live in the booking’s notes — added when guests mention them, or when you ring to confirm the day before. The notes travel with the booking, so nothing lives on a sticky note by the phone.

The morning run sheet

Print the daily manifest before the first ride: every departure with its bookings, rider counts, phone numbers, notes and a check-in column. When the forecast turns at 6am, the numbers you need to ring are already on one page.

Horses in the morning and the water in January? GoodKeen runs kayak hire and boat & jetski hire on the same calendar, with the same 0% fees. And if you’re moving off another system, we’ll help — import your customers from a CSV, and we’ll migrate your vouchers with you. Talk to us.

Frequently asked questions

Each trek is its own activity in GoodKeen, with its own weekly departures and a hard capacity — set it to the horses you can saddle for that ride, and the system stops selling when they’re taken. Price per rider, or set a flat rate for a group that books the whole trek as one booking. During checkout, places are held for 15 minutes so the same saddle can’t sell twice.
No booking system can weigh a rider from a form, and we won’t pretend otherwise. GoodKeen records each rider’s name and date of birth automatically — checkout won’t accept anyone under 18. Publish your weight limit on your booking page, ask when you ring to confirm, and keep the answer in the booking’s notes; notes print on the daily run sheet, so the crew matching horses to riders has them at the yards.
Refund the booking in full or in part in a couple of clicks — a PDF receipt goes out automatically, and if the rider paid with a gift voucher, the refund returns to the voucher first. Prefer to move them? Drag the booking onto another departure on the calendar, and capacity is re-checked as you drop it.
Yes — every rider signs at booking with a real drawn signature, stored against an immutable copy of the exact waiver text with a cryptographic hash, IP, device and timestamp, exportable as PDF. A waiver is risk communication, consent and a record — not a liability shield — and our plain-English guide to NZ waiver law covers what that means in practice.
