A Stripe booking system for NZ operators. Your account. Your payout schedule. 0% added.

GoodKeen is a booking system that takes payment through your own Stripe account — not a platform wallet. Guests pay by card at checkout, the money settles straight into your Stripe account on your payout schedule, and GoodKeen adds 0%. You pay only Stripe’s standard processing fees, which go to Stripe, not to us.

All prices in NZD. Built in New Zealand.

How it works — three steps, no middleman

Most booking software puts itself between your guest’s card and your bank. GoodKeen deliberately doesn’t.

1

Connect your Stripe keys

Paste your Stripe keys into GoodKeen’s settings once. They’re stored encrypted at rest, and from that moment every charge is created directly on your own Stripe account. No Stripe account yet? Setting one up is free and takes minutes.

2

Guests pay by card at checkout

Your booking page and website widget use a Stripe Elements card form — the same checkout field guests see on sites everywhere. While they pay, their spot is held for 15 minutes with a visible countdown, so two groups can never buy the same slot.

3

Money lands in your account

The payment settles in your Stripe account and pays out to your bank on the schedule you set in your Stripe dashboard — daily, weekly, whatever suits your cash flow. GoodKeen adds 0% and never touches the funds in between.

Follow the money

Three ways booking software handles your money

Before you pick a system, ask one question: whose account does the guest’s payment actually land in?

Model Where the payment settles What it adds
Platform-processed Some platforms process the card themselves, then pay you out on their own timetable. Your takings sit in their pipeline between the guest and your bank. A middleman between your guest’s card and your account — and a payout wait you don’t control.
Guest-fee checkout The platform runs the payment and adds its fee to the guest’s total at checkout — FareHarbor’s is typically 6–8%, not published, set per agreement. A surcharge your guests pay on a booking with your name on it.
GoodKeen + your Stripe The charge is created on your own Stripe account and pays out to your bank on the schedule you set in Stripe. Nothing. GoodKeen adds 0% on every plan — the only card cost is Stripe’s standard processing fee, which goes to Stripe, not to us.

FareHarbor’s guest fee is not published — “typically 6–8%” per an analysis by rival platform CaptainBook (captainbook.io), checked Aug 2026 — check each provider for current rates. Card processing (Stripe) is charged separately by your payment provider on any system.

Payments that run the bookings for you

Taking the card is the easy half. The point of a booking system that takes payment is everything that happens the second the payment lands.

Bookings confirm themselves

The moment Stripe reports a successful payment, the booking confirms and the guest gets their email and QR ticket. Every webhook is signature-verified, so nothing but Stripe itself can mark a booking as paid.

Refunds from the booking screen

Weather turned, group shrank, plans changed — issue a full or partial refund right from the booking, without logging into the Stripe dashboard. It runs through your own Stripe account back to the guest.

Gift cards refund first

If a gift card part-paid the booking, refund value goes back onto the gift card first and any remainder to the guest’s bank card — so voucher money stays voucher money.

PDF receipts

Every payment comes with a proper PDF receipt — the kind a corporate group or a guest claiming expenses actually asks for.

Keys encrypted at rest

Your Stripe keys are stored encrypted at rest and used only to create charges and refunds on your account. Staff logins are protected by two-factor authentication.

No zombie carts

Checkout holds a spot for 15 minutes with a visible countdown; a booking that never gets paid expires automatically after 30 minutes. Abandoned carts never block your capacity.

One processor, done properly

Stripe is the only card processor GoodKeen supports at launch, and that’s deliberate. One integration means the parts that matter — encrypted keys, signature-verified webhooks, refunds from the booking screen — are built deep rather than duplicated shallow across half a dozen gateways.

It also keeps the promise structural: because the charge is created on your Stripe account, your money can’t route through us. There’s no GoodKeen wallet, no payout run to wait on, no balance of yours sitting on our books.

And a guest without a card at checkout isn’t locked out — you can add bookings yourself in the admin, so phone bookings and walk-ins land on the same calendar as everything else. See pricing for the plans — payments work the same on all of them, including Free.

What your own Stripe account means
  • Payouts run on the schedule you set in Stripe — not on a platform’s timetable.
  • Full visibility in your own Stripe dashboard — every charge, refund and payout, in your name.
  • The Stripe account, its history and its customer records are yours — they were never ours to begin with.
  • 0% added by GoodKeen on every plan — to you and to your guests.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. GoodKeen takes card payments through your own Stripe account — you paste your keys into settings once, and they’re stored encrypted. If you don’t have a Stripe account yet, creating one is free and takes minutes on the standard pay-as-you-go plan.
Stripe charges its standard NZ processing fees per transaction — the current rates are published on Stripe’s own pricing page. Those fees go to Stripe, not to us. GoodKeen adds 0% on top, on every plan, including Free.
No. Guests pay through your own Stripe account, so the money settles there directly and pays out to your bank on the schedule you set in your Stripe dashboard. GoodKeen never routes, holds or touches the funds — we simply confirm the booking when Stripe tells us the payment succeeded.
You issue full or partial refunds from the booking screen in GoodKeen, and they’re processed through your own Stripe account back to the guest. If a gift card part-paid the booking, the refund goes back onto the gift card first, with any remainder to the guest’s bank card.
Yes. You can add bookings yourself in the admin — handy for phone bookings and walk-ins — so a guest without a card at online checkout still gets a confirmed spot on the calendar, with the same confirmation email and QR ticket as everyone else.
